Thinking Of Home by T. D. Ard

I am thinking today
Of my friends far away,
Some I never shall see any more;
Until death sets me free,
From this body of clay,
And my troubles and trials are o’er.

I am thinking today
Of that home far away,
And its joys how I long to behold;
There no sorrows can come
To that sweet, happy home,
And its pleasures can never be told.

Oh, how happy we’ll be
When our loved ones we see,
Who have gone on before us to Heav’n;
We shall sing of His love
In the mansions above,
Where to us a new song shall be giv’n.

I am thinking today
Of that home far away,
And its joys how I long to behold;
There no sorrows can come
To that sweet, happy home,
And its pleasures can never be told.

There our fathers have gone
And are resting at home,
Blessèd Savior is waiting for me;
Yes, our mothers are there
In that home bright and fair,
And I hope we shall them again.

I am thinking today
Of that home far away,
And its joys how I long to behold;
There no sorrows can come
To that sweet, happy home,
And its pleasures can never be told.

We have brothers at rest
In that home of the blest,
Where no cryings or pains ever come;
There our sisters we’ll see
And at rest ever be,
In that beautiful, sweet, happy home.

I am thinking today
Of that home far away,
And its joys how I long to behold;
There no sorrows can come
To that sweet, happy home,
And its pleasures can never be told.
